Is Fondu waterproof?
Yes — the scoop is rated IPX7, so you can rinse it clean under the tap. Use water below 70°C / 158°F, don't leave it soaking for long periods, and keep the charging dock and its contacts dry.
Can Fondu go in the dishwasher?
No. Hand wash only. A dishwasher combines high heat, detergent and water pressure well beyond what IPX7 covers.
How many scoops can I get on one charge?
Up to 50 scoops on a full charge, depending on how hard the ice cream is and how long you keep it heating between scoops.
How long will the battery last overall?
The 21700 lithium cell is rated for 2,000+ full charge cycles.
How fast does it heat up?
It reaches 158°F in under 30 seconds, and the display shows the live temperature so you always know when it's ready.
Is the handle hot to hold?
No. Only the stainless scoop head heats. The handle stays at a comfortable temperature — verified in UL 60335-1 safety testing.
Does it work on gelato and sorbet?
Yes, and on frozen yoghurt. Anything you'd normally have to leave on the counter to soften.
How does it charge?
It sits on a USB-C charging dock. Lift it off to use, set it back to charge.
Is it safe for food contact?
The stainless steel scoop head is tested to FDA GRAS standards — arsenic, cadmium, lead and mercury all below detection limits.
